Short, because this site does very little. No cookies of ours, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing loaded from anybody else’s server.

What this site does not do

We set no cookies. There is no analytics package, no tracking pixel, no advertising tag and no social widget. Every font, script and image is served from this domain, so loading the page does not tell a third party that you were here. You can confirm all of that from your browser’s network panel, which is a better guarantee than this paragraph.

One exception is worth naming: Cloudflare sits in front of this site as our DNS and content-delivery provider. If it decides a visitor may be automated it can present a challenge and set a cookie of its own to remember the outcome. That is Cloudflare’s mechanism, not ours, and it is the only cookie you are likely to encounter here.

What is recorded

• Web server logs. Our own server records the usual line per request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the response status, the referring page and the browser’s user-agent string. These rotate daily and are kept for fourteen days, then deleted.
• Cloudflare connection data. As the service in front of ours, Cloudflare processes connection information such as your IP address in order to route and protect the request, under its own terms.
• Email you send us. If you write to us, the message is stored in our own mail system, on our own server, so that we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

What we do not do with it

We do not build a profile, we do not sell or rent anything, and we do not add an address to a mailing list because somebody once asked a question. There is no newsletter. If we ever start one, it will be something you opt into deliberately.

Asking us about your data

Write to hello@oakandanchortech.com and ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. We will answer from a person, usually the same day. Bear in mind that fourteen-day log rotation means most of it is gone before anyone could ask.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. We do not keep a version history of it yet; if that becomes worth doing, it will be published here.
